Question of the week: 2012 predictions

Predictions 2012

1) Both Sony and Microsoft do that”We’re not gonna tell you about our new systems…but oh man the future is bright!!!” speech at e3.

2) By year’s end everyone will notice that despite Microsoft pushed very hard with Kinect, there still won’t be “killer apps”…hardware sells game will not.

3) Sony will be even worse.  The hardware will have sold fair, but not even Sony will talk about it or even fake enthusasim. [Price is Right Fail Horn]

4) Someone will hack a PS Vita and will show it doing some AMAZING thing while jail-broken.  It will be a crazy  ‘not possible with another device’ thing.  A decent surge in sales will occur with geeks dropping $300 to by a Vita…but no software sale to help Sony.

5) At the Sony booth the word will be “That Last of Us” is THE zombie game done right.  Leaving e3 it will be the hot Sony property people talk about breathlessly.

6) Halo 4 will get botched or disappoint on some level. At e3 it will look good, but as it approaches launch something will screw up….maybe previews before release will be lukewarm.

7) Wii U will have weak sales after the first few weeks, expect deep price cuts, bundled games, and every trick in the book to jump start sales.

Apple will deal with the Foxcon issue  because some workers will do somthing that is shown on the nightly news …people on fire/dead bodies in piles….it will make a huge change HAVE TO occur.  The human cost of technology becomes a big story.

9) Todd Howard is booed by several members of the audience at his GDC keynote.  Nobody will remember his speech everyone will remember the boos.

10) Sometime in January 2013 a leak will occur about the Next XBox.  It will be a spot on, with all the facts release.  Microsoft will scamble to cutoff the leak, but it will be too late.
